This is the second serviced accommodation I photographed on Atholl Crescent Lane, West End. It is a very popular spot for this type of short let. The West End of Edinburgh is full of attractions and restaurants. @Pizza, the Khukuri Restaurant, the Everest & Nepalese Restaurant, Indaba and Mamma Roma are just but a few,. They offer a range of foods, from Italian to African and Indian. Atholl Crescent Lane is also within walking distance of Princes Street, Edinburgh’s main shopping street, home of Jenners and Waterstones Booksellers.
This is a simple one bedroom property suitable for a couple of adult holiday makers. Most visitors to Scotland’s capital are expected to spend their time exploring what Edinburgh has to offer. They will be using their pied-à-terre just to get a good night sleep. One also expects holiday makers to eat out often and only use the kitchen facilities to prepare breakfast. A basic small kitchen is therefore perfectly satisfactory. However, it is really important that the property be clean. The photographs must reflect that.
I have met a few landlords who don’t seem to understand how good an investment professional property photography actually is for their serviced accommodation. Why spend hundreds if not thousands of pounds renovating a property, only to save a small percentage of that amount by taking the photos yourself and sell your property short? For a serviced accommodation such as this Atholl Crescent Lane, West End single bedroom flat, a couple more days of bookings more than pay for the cost of the images. While it’s never possible to know for sure, I imaging this to be a given over the lifetime of the photographs, possibly several years.
